Cathy and Joey Dufkin’s wedding at 90 State in Albany was like a scene out of ‘An Officer and A Gentleman!’
Joey surprised Cathy by wearing his Marine military blues for their church ceremony. The two of them looked so regal in their timeless, elegant finery, there wasn’t a bad picture of them all day long.
This wedding, by far, was the largest Jeff and I have photographed to date. Not only bridal party wise (20), but Joey’s immediate family (he’s 1 of 12 kids!!) put the group formal at over 30 members! Creative posing on the NYS Museum steps helped tremendously. A huge thank you to whoever designed the Empire State Plaza for all the awesome spots for wedding photos in such a compact area.
Changing into a classic black tuxedo before introductions, Joey looked like a 50’s movie star. The two of them looked like they just stepped off the top of a traditional wedding cake, the quintessential bride and groom. Then they’d stick their tongues out at each other all weird like or do some suggestive dance move on the dance floor, and you couldn’t help but do a double take and laugh! I love seeing the crazy side of our couples, seeing them interact with their family and friends, and just being themselves. Adds a realness to the day, when 90% of a wedding day seems out of the ordinary.
Jeff and I wish the Dufkins nothing but love, laughter, good health, and more laughter as they start their married life together. The Dufkin I Do’s were truly memorable and we thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day!
