Alex Zielinski is quite an anomaly! Normally young men could give a ‘you know what’ when it comes to Senior portraits. Alex made a point to come up to me at a baseball game over the summer and say he wanted to schedule his session with me. Too funny!
Alex and our son, Troy, go way back so taking his pictures was very relaxed and easy. We already had a relationship; we had things in common; I knew what would make Alex smile naturally; his mom was there to lend a hand; and we all like each other! We didn’t have to waste precious time getting to know one another – we jumped right into the session and got beautiful photos immediately.
I love to see the transformation when a Senior changes out of the more formal clothes and puts on his sports jersey. Not only does he look more relaxed, but the expressions are more ‘them’ too. Alex did not disappoint! A baseball player forever, wearing his Capital Renegade #9 jersey, Alex was right at home on the baseball field for the second half of his session. Swinging his bat, blowing bubbles, holding his custom glove with ‘Papa’ stitched on the mitt – he came alive for these fun pictures. These are my favorite kinds of photos as well, when the Senior truly shines.
I found out later that Alex told his teammates at his practice that night how much fun he had getting his Senior portraits taken! Again, for a boy to admit that, and especially to a crowd of kids, makes my ‘job’ that much easier.
Best of luck this year to you, Alex. With your personality and enthusiasm and zest for life, you’ll go far. Hope your 2020 class is the best one yet!! Congratulations!!
